Home-Based Habilitation
Our Home-based Habilitation programs are designed to help individuals with intellectual challenges learn and improve on their skills and address functional abilities to improve their lifestyle in the community.
Our programs are comprehensive and are deemed necessary for these individuals with disability. Our Home-based Habilitation program ‘s main objective is focused on improving health, welfare and the realization of their maximum physical, social , psychological and vocational potentials that would enhance their citizenry in our community.
What we Offer
The Home-based habilitation program at Community Living Services promotes independence and social wellbeing by:
- Developing socially appropriate behaviors and interpersonal skills, and eliminating maladaptive behaviors.
- Developing cognitive skills including, but not limited to, the handling of emergencies, telling time, managing money, making change, recognizing street and other signs, solving problems, etc.
- Using recreation and leisure time.
- Orienting to the community and training for mobility and travel.
- Developing or remediating communication skills.
- Developing appropriate grooming, sex, dress, and self-care habits, such as toileting, eating, and Shaving.
- Enhancing the physical, mental, and dental health of persons served focused on prevention and maintenance of their health.
- Training in assertiveness, and advocacy in dealing with citizenship, legal, family, and/or social needs.
